Hopefully you have had a chance to slow down after the holidays and get back into your normal routines and grooves on exercising. However, this maybe a new thing for you and it might be that you are incorporating a few of the items we have featured in the past few weeks for your “New Year, New You in 2016”.
It is great to incorporate exercise into your routine, but it is also very important to include nutritional and lifestyle changes as well. And for some at the beginning exercise may not be an option until health issues or concerns improve and a great way to work on that side is through nutrition and taking suggestions from medical professionals.
Health and body scans and screenings are a great place to start if you want a marker to gauge against or you are concerned about maybe being out of breath, a consistent cough, etc. Nutrition is a great way to address a lot of health concerns. Oklahoma Gardening, which is mentioned as an online resource, features a weekly program and a website full of information to help you develop healthy recipes, etc.
Some of the local resources like Weight Watchers, TOPS and the OSU Extension Service can provide you guidance nutritionally as well. Sometimes we just need a support group or a buddy to keep us on track and accountable.
You may be one of many who also face issues with substance abuse. Because of the development and implementation of programs through TSET resources are available to you free of charge to help end these addictions.
In addition, you will want to remember that during May through October, weather permitting or rather growing permitted, local and freshly sourced vegetables and fruits are available 3 days per week through the local farmers market.
To determine what local resources might fit you, please download our nutritional and lifestyle guide.
Although brief, we hope that this 3 week series has been helpful to you in some way about the local resources available both at cost as well as free for fitness, fitness equipment and accessories and nutritional and lifestyle guidance.
