Every year as the final weeks of December start to wind down, I start thinking about personal, family and career goals. Like everyone, some of them are always the same and some are different. Even if I accomplished a few from last year, I might try to improve upon them. A pretty common resolution, we’ve probably all had once or twice was to be healthier. Being healthy is different for each person. For some, it simply means exercise. For others, it is just nutrition or possibly a combination of the two. And for some of us, it means putting down some vices in our life like alcohol or tobacco.
In addition, to activities that are going on around town, I am going to focus this first month on various spots in town that can help you if any of the items I mentioned are on your 2016 resolutions or goals (as I choose to call them). So the first in the series is going to be a resolve to dissolve (the weight that is). If you can think of any fitness center that I left off or organized class, please feel free to add them in the comments section.
Each of the places featured will be contributing little snippets about their services and what they offer that will be featured on our facebook page. As with any fitness or exercise program, please check with your doctor first to make sure you are healthy for exercise and no modifications to your exercise program need to be made.
Ideally, individuals will exercise multiple times per week. If you’re looking at entering a marathon, now is a great time to start training and the OKC marathon and half marathon will be held this spring.
We’re working on a comprehensive guide for area residents as well as visitors to Chickasha on all things “eat, shop, play and stay in Chickasha.”
